The story of an army on the move
Major-General G.S. Szlumper, C.B.E. (Director-General of Movements and Transportation, War Office)

The transportation of troops in wartime is a business that calls for consummate organisation, skill, and experience. Major-General Szlumper is as well qualified as any in the country to discuss this subject. During the last war he was secretary to the Railway Executive Committee, and from 1937 to 1939 was General Manager of the Southern Railway.
