On Tuesday, when a Test Match is being played, Test Match Special may continue until 6.25 pm, according to whether an optional extra half-hour of play is called for. If play finishes before this time, Radio 3 will broadcast music programmes from any time after 5.40 pm. On days when it is known at close of play the day before that there will be no play, normal Radio 3 programmes will be broadcast.
