Bomber and Judy have given a farewell party to which most of Exton goes. Gwen has decided to spend a week at Little Eden with the two younger boys and with Jenny. Adam York has been called in to attend to ' Soapy ' Yarrow-a rather truculent old man. Pat has told Myra that he never wants them to have another baby. Mrs. Dale has learnt that Sally is separated from Richard and that she is the last person in the family to hear about it.
