The change in the status and power of trade unions, which has already been remarked in this country, has been reflected in the United States by a sequence of labour acts. Mr. Roberts examines the shift in public opinion which has led the most ' liberal' Congress since 1936 to extend the authority of the State over the internal affairs of the unions.
