This is the opening talk in this series for the autumn season. Professor Scott Watson has been spending a fortnight in Norfolk and has been attending the meetings of the Agricultural section of the British Association in Norwich. Tonight he will discuss the recent developments of Norfolk farming such as the large-scale cultivation of vegetables, the mechanisation of farming, and the manufacture of lucerne meal. He will also touch on some of the points raised by speakers at the British Association meetings.
In the course of the autumh Professor Scott Watson will from time to time bring to the microphone an expert on some particular branch of agriculture, and give the ' talk' in the form of a discussion. Disease in dairy herds, the problem of reducing the cost of bullock fattening, mountain sheep farming problems, market gardening, poultry farming, the cider industry, sugar beet, the work of a Veterinary Research officer-talks or discussions on these are all scheduled for the coming season.
