' The struggle for existence'
A. D. PEACOCK , Professor of Natural
History, University College, Dundee
How many of the thousands of seedlings descended from a single tree, or of the hundreds of tadpoles from a single frog, ever become adult ? Against what have they struggled, and what has enabled some to achieve success ? What are the factors that operate in this eternal struggle for existence ? These are some of the questions which will be discussed by Professor Peacock this afternoon.
