It'll Be All Right on the Day

on BBC Radio 4 FM

Once a year Minsterley, a small village in Shropshire, puts on its party clothes for its annual show. Now in its 105th year, it caters for every taste, for the serious competitor and the amateur. But however well-laid the plans there is always an element of the unexpected. Judges who have promised faithfully to attend do not turn up. The home-made wines get pinched. Someone loses their challenge cup. Someone else reckons they have been cheated. A sheep jumps out of its pen and runs amok in the donkey ring. All anyone can hope, is that 'it'll be all right on the day'. BBC Birmingham
