The Life of William Harvey

on BBC Radio 4 FM

William Harvey is annually honoured in the Harveian Oration at the Royal College of Physicians. Hundreds of thousands owe their lives to the man who discovered the circulation of the blood.
In his life, however, Harvey was to experience criticism and contempt and to see years of research destroyed by Cromwell's troops.
