Real stories from official records
Introduced by Captain Athelstan Popkess Chief Constable of City Police in a large Midland city
5 — ' Two Thieves and a Girl'
The call that came through to the Police Station one afternoon sounded like a routine case of house-breaking, but it wasn't so simple after all because sixteen-year old Brenda Jones was involved.....
In this last story of the series the Police themselves are concerned throughout, and the story shows two ways in which they serve the public: by pulling young people out of dangerous situations — and so preventing crime, and by catching the criminals and so giving the public protection and security. The story is told by Captain Popkess with contributions from members of his City Police Force. There are no actors in these programmes and only the names and minor details of the stories have been changed to avoid identification.
