For Art Garfunkel the five-year-old split with Paul Simon has been a crucial test. No longer was Paul writing songs for him. Where now would he find material to match that pure and distinctive voice? His first solo album Angel Clare made with ex-Simon and Garfunkel Engineer/Producer Roy Halee showed that the material existed. Art's new album represents a new-found confidence and complete break from the old order.
