Painting '—A Dialogue between Mr. STANLEY CASSON and Mr. ALBERT RUTH-ERSTON
THE name of Albert Rutherston is best know, perhaps, as that of a designer of charming book illustrations. One of the editions of The Week-End Book, for example, was graced by many exquisite decorations from his pen. He is also an authority on decorative painting as applied to the theatre, and some of his designs for stage settings are to be Been in the various public galleries. But those who have had the good fortune to study under his direction, either at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts or at Oxford, where he has been Ruskin Master of Drawing since 1929, know him also as a first-rnte teacher, with definite ideas about art and an unusual lucidity in expressing them. This evening Mr. Stanley Casson invites him to follow other distinguished artists in explaining his views and methods to the listening public.
