Private Passions

on BBC Radio 3

Michael Berkeley 's guest today is Scottish sculptor Ronald Rae , whose monumental granite sculptures - many inspired by religious or anthropological themes - are currently on display in Regent's Park,
London. Music is a great inspiration to him, and his choices today include two pieces of instrumental music by Shostakovich, keyboard music by Bach and Schubert, orchestral works by Peter Warlock and Vaughan Williams , and Sibellus's last symphonic poem, Tapiola.
