Talk by the Rev. Norman Cockburn , Ph.D., a General Secretary of the British and Foreign Bible Society
More than 150 years ago, the British and Foreign Bible Society was founded to help Missionary Societies to obtain Bibles in the language of the people. It has since then grown to become the servant of all the Churches. During the past year the third jubilee has been celebrated, both locally and nationally. These celebrations came to a climax with a Service of Thanksgiving in Westminster Abbey on Monday.
Dr. Cockburn talks about the elaborate preparations for this year of celebration' and assesses its effect on the work of the Society.
