Muzio Clementf (1752-1832)
Clementi, who was born' in Rome, but brought to England at the age of 14, has probably struck fear more than admiration into the hearts of generations of budding pianists. However, more up-to-date scholarship has revealed his true qualities as a composer held in high regard by his contemporaries, including Haydn and Beethoven. Heard during the week are four symphonies recently prepared for performance by Pietro Spada ,
