The theme of the play is the clash of temperaments between Bohemia and what has come to be known as ' the County.'
Listeners will hear, amongst other numbers, the quintet, 'Bohême' (Joanna, Paragot, Asticot and Artists) ; 'Tomorrow' (Blanquette); Portrait Song: 'The Golden Door' (Joanna); ' County ' (Paragot and Chorus) ; and Waltz Duet: ' Whispering Wind ' (Joanna and Paragot).
