Introduced by Terry Wogan who says "I compered A Song for Europe last year - though it wasn't shown then on TV - and I was very impressed by the standard of the songs and performances. In fact, I thought it was far higher than the general standard in the Eurovision Song Contest itself. This year I shall be introducing both shows again, and I feel our chances should be good. The British entries for the Eurovision contest have always been of high quality, and our overall record is very good - we've usually been in the first three."
