Henry called a family conference and revealed his plans to train and exhibit a pair of sea lions. Elsie misunderstood a conversation she overheard between Mrs. Dale and Mrs. Maggs, and went around spreading the news that Henry was to become a lion-tamer. George was ill and was away from the coffee stall; his mother came to explain this to Sue, and told her that George's father owned Chorleigh's Chocolate Houses, and was a millionaire. When George came back, Sue was very angry with him for not having told her this. In Capri, Mrs. Freeman kept on having disagreements with Maud French and decided to cut short her holiday and return home.
