During the early 1920s PIERRE MONTEUX was
Music Director of the BOSTON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA In 1960. aged 85. he conducted a performance of Beethoven's Choral
Symphony with them at Tanglewood; they never made a record of this masterpiece together.
