Two hundred years ago Weston-super-Mare was an unknown fishing and smuggling hamlet to the south of the Severn estuary. Then came the passion for indulging in sea bathing as a rest-cure, and in 1810 the first guest-house was built and named ' The Belvedere'. Today Weston-super-Mare is a major holiday resort and one of the fastest-growing towns in Europe Now that winter has set in and the holidaymakers are gone, the Christian community has time to find itself once again.
