A year ago today, one of the world's largest oil tankers was stuck fast on Seven Stones Reef off the Isles of Scilly. Her leaking cargo threatened the beaches, harbours and natural life along the coastlines of the English Channel and led to the biggest maritime emergency operation since the war.
