Bridget Kendall begins her examination of the role music played in history's flamboyant political and royal summits with a look at this event. She evaluates the series of ceremonies that took place and provided a cultural exchange between the Spanish court musicians and the visiting Flemish performers, who included some of the very finest musicians Of the age.
