Grievous Angel - the Gram Parsons Story

on BBC Radio 2

Bob Harris explores the life and music of singer/ songwriter, guitarist and pianist Gram Parsons , whose combined devotion to country and rock found expression in turns with the Byrds, the Flying Burrito
Brothers and Emmylou Harris. Parsons died in 1973, aged 26, leaving behind a relatively small body of solo work. His cult status as a country-rock visionary is confirmed tonight by contributors Emmylou Harris and Keith Richards. The tribute also includes Parsons in an interview previously unaired in the UK.
