A programme for children under five
Nursery rhymes, stories, and music
' Junior Lamb. ' Daphne Awkward. ' ' Captalcen Edwards ,' and ' Doll-lady
Sniff' — names that our small listeners would recognise in a moment as belonging to their ' story ladies.' atf four of whom they will hear in their programmes this week. This is something new, for it was only last week that we initiated a change in the presentation of these programmes so that now, instead of waiting two or three months for one or other of their storytellers, our under-fives may hear more than one telling their stories in the same week. This week they will hear three. Today and on Friday, Julia Lang relates the stories of ' Daisy of Beech Farm by Leah Maizel , and ' Rackettypan the Scarecrow ' by Ursula Hourihane. Tomorrow and on Wednesday, come the tales of ' The Three Naughty Pussycats,' told by Daphne Uxenfoid , and on Thursday, Do othy Smith tells an old favourite, ' The Little Nurse.' by E. Mallett. Catherine Edwards will be here again each day to introduce the nursery rhymes and storyteller. On Friday she will also introduce a new friend, Lorna Pegram , who is to be her co-presenter and who will take her place at the microphone for the next two weeks. Elizabeth A. Taylor
