The 100 Club

on BBC Radio 2

New series 1/4. Robert Elms tells the story of Britain's longest-surviving live-music venue -the 100 Club, so named because of its numerical position on London's Oxford Street. The club's repertoire has included everything from jitterbug to jazz, and from punk to indie.
Forget the Doodlebug Come Jitterbug
This first programme recalls the venue's early incarnation as the restaurant Mack's, which in 1942 introduced live jazz.
Plus input from performers and customers who frequented the 100 Club during the war years. Producer David Perry
