' War distress in China.' A talk by Madame Chiang Kai-Shek , recorded from Chungking, followed by an appeal on behalf of the British Fund for Relief of Distress in China, by the secretary, Dr. H. Gordon Thompson
Madame Chiang Kai-Shek is the wife of the Generalissimo of the Chinese
Armies. One of her sisters is the wife of Dr. H. H. Kung , Chinese Minister of Finance, and the other is the widow of Sun Yat-Sen, first President of the Chinese Republic.
During the last four years Madame Chiang has been constantly with her husband on the various fronts, sharing the anxieties and dangers of war. Characteristic of her are her constant thoughts for the victims of the war-and not least for the four to five' million war orphans.
The British Fund for the Relief of Distress in China was formerly the Lord Mayor's Fund,
