Euclio, a miser, pretends to the outside world that he's a pauper. But hidden away in his house is his precious pot of gold and he spends most of his time keeping a very careful eye on it. Not careful enough, though, for on his daughter's wedding day Mars is in conjunction with Venus - which can only spell disaster, and what with all the dreadful people coming and going something is bound to go wrong ...
