Western Week-end - VIII: The Ancient Shrines of Wells and Glastonbury

on 5WA Cardiff

View in Radio Times

Mr. W.B. Henderson
Professor Freeman has said about Wells Cathedral that 'in no other place could be seen so many of the ancient ecclesiastical buildings still standing and devoted to their legitimate purpose.' The Abbey of Glastonbury was once the premier monastic establishment in England, and tradition says it was on this spot that the Christian Church was founded in England by Joseph of Arimathea.
