The Time of My Life

on BBC Radio 4 FM

Kenneth Williams talks about the years when he served King and Country in the uniform of the British Army.
Although the army didn't succeed in turning him into an efficient combatant, yet it taught him how to live with other people; it sent him travelling across the world, it showed him the value of discipline, it gave him the opportunity to exploit his acting talent and become an entertainer, and it cured his weak feet.
