Kenny Dorham. Julian Joseph celebrates the life of this American trumpet virtuoso and composer. Dorham's early career included stints with Lionel Hampton , Dizzy Gillespie and, from 1948, the revolutionary quintet led by Charlie Parker. He was a founding member of the Jazz
Messengers and went on to collaborate with tenor saxophonist Joe Henderson , recording a series of albums for the Blue Note label including Una Mas in 1963.
