Opera in three acts with words and music by Delius
A truly remarkable work of which no one living knows either a word or a note (SIR THOMAS BEECHAM ) These words now no longer apply since this BBC studio recording gave the work its premiere in November 1977.
To introduce the performance, Robert Thrclfall of the Delius Trust talks to ELAINE PADMORE about the opera. It reflects the period when Delius lived in the depths of Florida where the legend of a fountain of eternal youth and wisdom fired his imagination.
